Q1: I can not get the IP by the software "IPEDIT"

A1: Please refer the following possible parts for this IP POWER not been searched by IPEDIT

1. Boot up successfully: Please reboot the 9258 and check if there are 1 short beep after 3 ~ 60 seconds.
  This beep means the device boot up successfully . If not , the device may have issue.

2. Network card: Please check if there are morn that two network card - include wire / wireless / dynamic - in the PC which used IPEIT software.
  IPEDIT only support single network PC , please disable the other network connection / functions.
User can execute IPEDIT and Press "alt" + Z to check the network adaptor in the PC.Click here
3. Anti Virus software / Firewall: Please turn off the antivirus software firewall temporary.

4. Power: If there is no power go to 9258, please check the fuse part .
  There will be no power for 9258 if the fuse buttons is pup up - not easy/flexible to press as it was - by over loading for long time, please press the fuse back and the power will go to 9258 to boot up .

5. Connection: Please make sure that the 9258 is under same router with the PC used IPEDIT . It is fine to connect across multiple routers but it need to setup the MASK part
  which need some knowhow.

Note :
1. * the time for boot up differ by models
- 9255 / 9258 Series : 5 seconds
- 98XX Series : 60seconds

Q2 : What is the default IP address of the 9255 / 9255Pro / 9258 ?

A2: The IP will be different under different connection :

1. With DHCP router to assigned the IP : Get the IP form the DHCP router ( Default setting)
2. Without DHCP router to assigned the IP / Connect to PC directly : the last IP assigned by DHCP router .
3. 9255 / 9255Pro / 9258 will go to a fix IP 192.168.1.100 under one procedure :
Power off & without Ethernet cable connection, keep press the two button then do the power ON ( = hardware reset ) ,
after boot up successfully ( after 3 short beeps ) then to connect ethernet cable .

Q1: How to enable the NTP function of 9258 ?

A1: To work NTP, please do connect to Internet and 9258 will auto connect to NTP server.

Please refer the picture of the NTP page buttons functions :

1. Save : Save the setting & Disable NTP function .

2. NTP : Enable NTP function.

3. Local time : Use the local time of the controlled PC & Disable NTP function .

NTP setting procedure :

Step 1 : Fill the IP of the NTP server and also the time zone . About TIME ZONE : If in JAPAN , please fill 7 in the section . If in Taiwan , please fill 8 .
Press "SAVE" to save the setting

Step 2 : Press "NTP" buttons to enable the NTP function.

Q2: I forgot the password of IP POWER 9258and can not enter the administration page now, what can I do?

A2: There are two way to get back your password to default

1.Software Reset:

Use username "super user" when log in webpage and then click "OK " turn power off for few second and then turn on ON . 9258 will to set back to default password. (There is space between super and user.)

2.Hardware reset:

Hardware Reset --- following the procedure a) to d) to work on

To Reset the Device Back to Manufacturer Default:

a) First Turn off the device wait for 7 seconds
b) Press and hold the two buttons on the front panel of the 9258 at the same time -- holding there --then power on the 9258.
c) Keep holding until you hear 2 short "beep" sounds and one long "beep" sound.
d) Once the device has been reset refer to the following settings below.

Factory default settings:

UserName: admin
Password: 12345678
Device IP Address:192.168.1.100
Gateway : 192.168.1.1

Q3 : What is the default IP address of the 9258 ?

A3 : Based on the different sequence of cable connections, the IP will be different, please refer the following situations :

  Power on, with Ethernet Cable & with DHCP Router assigned IP : The IP will be assigned by DHCP router
  Power on, with Ethernet Cable without DHCP Router assigned IP or connect to PC/Hub directly : The IP will be last IP address as it work last time .
  Power on, without Ethernet cable connection and boot up ( beep sound ): The IP will be last IP address as it work last time
  9258 will go to a fix IP 192.168.1.100 under one procedure :
Power off & without Ethernet cable connection, keep press the two button then do the power ON ( = hardware reset ) , after boot up successfully ( hear one beep ) then to connect ethernet cable .

Q4 : I want to turn the power off and on with the RS232 port, but I cannot input/output hyperterminal. Is there any setting need to enable the RS232 port?

A4 : To enable use the RS232 port, your RS232 cable must be straight through cable, not crossover.

Excpet the hyperterminal, you can also use the Putty to control IP9258 through RS232.
Please set the " Baud Rate=19200 bps " in your HyperTerminal or putty before you turn on the power of 9258.

Q1 : What is the default IP address of the 9255 / 9255Pro / 9258 ?

A1: The IP will be different under different connection :

Q2: I can not use telnet to control 9255, how can I enable the telnet control?

A2: Login to your device webpage, and move to the Setup-System section.

Move to Telnet as the red square shown, click on to enable the Telnet, then click the submit to save settings.

IP POWER 9850

Q1: How to reset the device without access to the WEB UI?

A1: To reset the device without access to the WEB UI, you need to press the reset bottom by pressing port 1 and 2.

Please refer to the pic and follow the steps:
1-1. Before you start to press the reset bottom, please make sure your Ethernet cable is plug in the device’s ethernet port.
1-2. Press port 1 and port 2 bottom as the reset sign showed(refer to the picture),
keep pressing in at least 7 seconds, when you hear the bee sound in three times, the device is complete it’s reset.

Q2: I already complete my ping setting in conditional mode, why my 9850 is unable to get ping?

A2: Please check your repeat section is "stop" or "continue" in conditional mode.(refer tot the picture below) Choose the " stop " option only let the device work one time, and it will stop its function, if you want to keep the device working, just change it to "continue", it won't unable again until you turn off the power or disable it.
